With Lin-Manuel Miranda on the project, there is no surprise that the music here is on point and easily pushes it towards one of the best musicals to date. I recently got a new MP3 player and the soundtrack is one of the first things I put on it.
There are a few instances where it is unclear how much of the music takes place in the world or not, which can be a bit distracting, especially when they start moonwalking up buildings like Michael Jackson bitten by a radioactive spider!
The Latin-American representation is a breath of fresh air and, as far as I can tell, is handled very well. This is held up by the amazing performances all around. The only person I feel struggles a bit is Melissa Barrera, but it is far from anything I'd call poor. It's a fun and emotional watch for sure and I cannot wait to see what else these creatives bring us next!
